Business & Science Networking

Sharp-eyed members may have noticed that Second Fridays Business & Entrepreneurial Networking Group has now become Second Fridays, Business, Science and Entrepreneurial Networking Group. From the October meeting, scientists and science based entrepreneurs will be encouraged to join Second Fridays meetings to network alongside our existing business based members encouraging interaction between business and science.

Second Fridays is owned and sponsored by Consult-igma Ltd, a science based consultancy and it has always been our ambition to attract scientists to Second Fridays networking meetings which should enhance membership and provide a better networking experience for all our members.

Science based networking groups such as Cafe Science and Cafe Scientifique www.cafescientifique.org already exist, principally for members to listen to scientific lectures and forums but we believe that we are the first local networking group to encourage the interaction and networking of business entrepreneurs and scientists at an informal networking meeting and as such we are receiving support from the London Section of the Society of Chemical Industry, whose slogan is ‘Where Science Meets Business’.

Free Advertising & Promotion Through First Friday Network Members Directory

Second Fridays has always been an independent networking group since its inception in 2004 but aligned with the First Friday Network based in Chichester, since it was inspired by the original informal free networking concept developed by Steve Wilson of Wilson Design Associates for First Friday.

Over thev years, this informal and free networking formula has proved to be extremely successful and the First Friday Network now consists of several networking groups across East and West Sussex and is set to expand nationally.

The expansion of the First Friday Network can only benefit Second Fridays networking and Second Fridays members, as our alignment with the First Friday Network gives much greater exposure to business entrepreneurs (and scientists) over a geographical area between Romsey and Lewes and naturally any of the Second Fridays or First Friday Network members are free to visit any of the other networking groups.

Second Fridays is included and has a web page on the First Friday Network website,

-which gives First Fridays members access to us and our news.

Finally Second Friday members can now register with the First Friday Network and make a free entry in their excellent business directory, enabling members to have business exposure across the whole First Friday Network and also to receive copies of the First Friday Network eNewsletter.

We are sure our close association with the First Friday Network will benefit our Second Friday members and we encourage you to take up these offers.

Junior Diabetes Research Foundation - Fundraising Walk - Sunday September 27th, Paultons Park, nr Romsey.

Consult-igma Ltd & Second Friday Friends Team

As in past years, Consult-igma Ltd and Second Fridays supported this year’s JDRF walk to help cure diabetes by entering a ‘Consult-igma Ltd and Second Fridays Friends Team’ for the fund-raising walk around Paulson’s Park, which took place on 27^th September, raising £260 for JDRF. Our thanks go to the team members, shown in the photo and all the people who sponsored us, including several Rotarians from Southampton West Rotary Club http://www.rotarysouthamptonwest.co.uk and Im-Press Promotions (Southampton) who kindly provided the team T-shirts. http://www.impresswessex.co.uk
